MAPP started an effort to rename Stonewall School in San Antonio, Texas, Harlandale ISD to Cesar E Chavez Elementary School of Non-Violence and Peace. The goals are: 1. promote Non-Violence and Peace 2. empower students 3. honor Cesar E Chavez. 2500 people have signed our petition. Supporters include a member of the Texas State Board of Education, a vice-president of UTSA, five UTSA professors, two City Council members, prominent business people, prominent attorneys, a former Superintendent, and numerous Latina leaders and activists. AND YET REPUBLICANS CLAIM THAT THEY ARE NOT RACISTS BUT SOLELY CONCERNED ABOUT BEING A NATION OF LAWS…………THEIR LAWS!
